What You Need
to Know

People of all ages, with a wide range of physical, cognitive and/or emotional challenges benefit from therapeutic horseback riding and other equine activities. Taught by specially trained instructors certified by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl), therapeutic horsemanship lessons develop horseback riding skills in individuals with disabilities and allow each student to reach his/her highest level of independence in mounted and non-mounted equine activities.
Before participating in therapeutic horseback riding activities, individuals need to consult with their physicians. Each prospective rider is required to present a complete medical history and physician’s statement signed by their physician prior to a therapeutic riding session.
