Rio, a red roan Appaloosa, arrived on July 4th, 2025. Rio is an 8 year old gelding just over 15-hands in height whom we are leasing from his owner in Arizona. Rio's owner rode Western on him, but Rio has made an easy transition to English riding since arriving at Partners. He is level-headed, social, affectionate, bright, curious, thoughtful, and eager to please. His patience and willingness to think through his riders' cues make him an ideal lesson horse. His social nature is a great indicator that he will thrive in an environment where he gets to work with different riders and volunteers each day.
